Is My Red Your Red?
Below are twelve red-ish chips. One of them — for you — is not red-ish at all. It's just red. The red your heart calls RED. Tap it.

What just happened
In lab studies of what's called unique red, researchers ask exactly this question with tightly controlled lights instead of chips — and healthy people with normal color vision confidently point at different reds. Everyone certain. Nobody pointing at the same place. Your truest red is, measurably, not your friends' truest red — and that's just the part we can measure.
Because here's the trapdoor under this whole exhibit: even if you and a friend picked the same chip, that agreement is about pointing. It says nothing about what the red is like on the inside for each of you. The inner felt redness — philosophers call it a quale, mostly so they can argue about the plural — is the one thing you can't hold up for comparison.

Now imagine that swap happened inside you at birth — your inner paint swapped, everything else untouched. You'd grow up calling the swapped feeling "red." You'd stop at stop signs. You'd pass every color test ever devised. No experiment, no brain scan, no heart-to-heart conversation could ever catch it. A difference that changes everything about your inner life and nothing measurable at all.
Why it matters
Science works on things that can be compared from the outside. Your red is the thing that can't be. That's not a gap in the data — it may be a gap in the method, and it's the doorway to the Hard Problem waiting for you in Exhibit № 16. (Fine print on the button: some philosophers think the swap is secretly incoherent and the question dissolves under pressure. They might be right! Nobody knows. Hence the meter.)
